Twitter As An SEO Research Tool
We all work for clients (or in my case, a specific campaign) that needs publicity ever so often. Whether it's a press release for our clients or a social media release (anyone using those?) or the latest Digital Brand Index, we should be aiming to publish our content at an optimum time when it's most likely to "pop".
As I said last week on writing for the web, if you're going to spend the time and effort to create the content, you might as well spend the time optimising it for the web and social and search, if not you've just done the equivalent of running a race but not crossing the finish line.
So here's an interesting video from SEOmoz that talks about how to use Twitter as an SEO research tool to help you time when to release your content. For stuff that is released in cycles like the DBI, trends might be easier to see than some other publicity content, but nonetheless definitely an interesting idea to look at.
How do you think this applies to your digital work?
